Triple-A Scranton (1-0 loss to Rochester)
- LF Ben Gamel: 0-4, 1 K
- RF Aaron Judge: 0-3, 1 BB — six strikeouts in his last seven games (20.0 K%), so hopefully he’s trending in the right direction
- CF Slade Heathcott: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 K — threw a runner out at second … he’s gone 4-for-15 (.267) since coming back from the hand injury
- DH Nick Swisher: 0-4, 1 K
- C Gary Sanchez: 1-4, 1 K
- 3B Rob Refsnyder: 1-4 — 7-for-24 (.292) during his six-game hitting streak
- RHP Anthony Swarzak: 8 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 1 WP, 8/9 GB/FB — 70 of 103 pitches were strikes (68%) … I thought maybe there was a chance he would get called up today after the bullpen threw 98 pitches last night, but nope
Double-A Trenton‘s game was postponed because there is too much fog in the area. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on June 11th.
High-A Tampa (4-2 loss to Brevard County)
- SS Jorge Mateo: 0-3, 1 R, 1 K — left the game in the seventh inning for an unknown reason
- LF Mark Payton: 3-4, 1 R, 1 CS
- 3B-1B Billy Fleming & DH-3B Miguel Andujar: both 1-4, 2 K — Fleming drove in a run … they gave up the DH after Mateo left the game
- 2B-SS Abi Avelino: 0-3, 1 RBI, 1 E (throwing)
- RF Austin Aune: 0-4, 1 K
- LHP Josh Rogers: 8 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 9 K, 1 WP, 1 Balk, 6/6 GB/FB, 1 E (pickoff) — 73 of 98 pitches were strikes (74%), plus he picked a runner off first … 34/3 K/BB in 30.2 innings for last year’s 11th rounder … he’s probably been the best and most consistent starting pitcher in the system so far this year
Low-A Charleston was rained out. They’re going to play a doubleheader tomorrow.
